Letter from the Editors #2

If you’re reading this, thank you. Thank you for your attention, your time, your encouragement (by way of critique or compliment), your likes, your shares. Since launching The Rib late last year, we’ve been humbled by your response, your support, and your enthusiasm. Thank you.

Thanks to your encouragement, The Rib has published over forty articles highlighting more than 200 artists. Fifty exhibition spaces, more than twenty curators, and twenty-five writers have been featured in those articles. These numbers represent just a fraction of contemporary art along the periphery. We’ve only just begun.

Recently, Rachel Kauff writes about Public Space One, Iowa City’s only alternative space for art. Kauff writes that critical response comes not from a position of power, but “love of people.” We couldn’t agree more, and that’s why we’d love to hear from you, dear readers. Want to write for us?
